LD's Transformation

Hi, my name's LD and I am 37 years old. I went to a facial plastic surgeon last year for a consultation regarding rhinoplasty and upper eyelid surgery. The Dr. suggested that instead of a blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), I should consider an endoscopic brow lift. Here's why - he said he doesn't like to leave visible scars on a younger person's face (in terms of rejuvenating surgery, I'm on the young side), I have dry eyes, and he said the blepharoplasty would have a high chance of making that condition worse. The brow lift, on the other hand, doesn't mess with your eyes, hides all scars within your hair, lessens upper eyelid heaviness, and helps get rid of horizontal forehead creases. The downside is it does raise your hairline by 1/4 inch, but I decided that was OK. The endo brow lift, I understand, has a much easier recovery than a traditional brow lift, although if you needed a lot of correction, it might not do the trick. I had 5, 1 inch incisions in my hairline. When I woke up I had surgical tape on my forehead and a bunch of surgical staples around the top! Very weird looking.

By the way, I had general anesthesia, because I had multiple procedures. There was no pain to speak of, ever! What I did get was numbness on two areas of my forehead, and numb strip along the top of my head. The swelling was not very noticeable, to my surprise. The staples came out after 10 days, I was glad because it was strange to see that in the mirror!! The numbness went away faster than I thought it would, probably after 4-5 weeks. Then I had intense itching on top of my head for another month. I never lost any hair around my incisions, although I understand this can happen. I looked good enough where no one would know I had the surgery as soon as the staples were taken out. I would say I felt all healed after 5 months. Now the incisions aren't even visible to my hair colorist!!

I am a happy lady with this surgery. It did make me look younger, due to no forehead lines!! I consider it worth the time and expense (about $3800.USD). Anyone with reservations about upper a blepharoplasty should consider this procedure!
